Fucoidan Research Overview

There is a significant body of emerging fucoidan research that is growing every day. Over 1600 independent, peer-reviewed scientific studies are available on the bioactive properties and effects of fucoidan. These research papers have focused on key health topics including immunity support, heart and digestive health, anti-inflammation, and anti-cancer activity.

Evidence Grading

We want share with you full knowledge of our understanding of the effects of fucoidan. Specifically, we have graded the levels of scientific evidence underpinning the health benefits of fucoidan as follows.

E1 Theoretical effect or in vitro (human cells in the laboratory) evidence

E2 Animal model evidence of effects

E3 Early human evidence of fucoidan effects

E4 High-quality human evidence of fucoidan effects

E5 Human study of product as sold

The scientific substantiation of the health benefits of fucoidan is constantly changing and we are continually reviewing and sorting through new research. Currently, the large body of fucoidan research available has mainly been conducted via in vitro studies, animals studies and, more recently, human clinical trials.
